We were delighted to have the opportunity to run the Golden Ticket workshop in partnership with A+ World Academy in Gran Canaria on the 25th of November, 2022. The event was sponsored by ROMA KG, a German blinds company, part of the parent company network of Globe Business College Munich. This exciting collaboration was aimed at linking the school, college and company around the central message that ongoing skill and character development for teens and young people is vital in the dynamic, tech-driven world we live in.

A+ World Academy is a global high school and gap year programme that sails to 20 cities in 14 countries on the world’s oldest active fully rigged ship. On their travels around the world, students focus on academic studies but also key character and skill development. That makes this Academy a real match for the Globe College educational concept and resulted in a very exciting, productive and value driven Golden Ticket programme. The students were put through an exhilarating day of presentation skills, public speaking, teamwork, and leadership training.

Our Mentorship Team

In addition to the top academic team from Globe Business College, we bring in key mentors and business leaders to each workshop as well as a judging panel of industry experts and company owners for the final presentations.

Chris Kaiser, the founder of Click A Tree, has a passion for sustainable entrepreneurship. He not only plants trees, but actively fights climate change, builds habitats for endangered animals, and creates jobs with full-time income for local communities. He has lived on and worked in five continents and is responsible for planting over 120,000 trees in fifteen countries, thanks to more than 500 global partners.

The Event

While business is the workshop context, the day is really about character and skill development. The key focus is on the five skills of bigger picture thinking, time management, empathetic exchange, grit/passion/determination, and communication. Students worked from 9 am to 5 pm in competing teams to develop a concept for a business case study. The day culminated in final presentations in a competition format which required participants to step out of their comfort zone, personally develop and be results driven in a fast-paced experience.
